John's Gospel begins with an iconic prologue in the first eighteen verses that sets out the focus and character of John's collation of events from Jesus' life and ministry. In these first eighteen verses he not only introduces the material, but sets out what he'll seek to prove in the remainder of the Gospel.
John gives addresses five key areas that help understand the Jesus that he reveals in his Gospel:
1. The Person
2. His Origins
3. His Nature
4. His Mission
5. The Reception
Join us as we explore John's Gospel together and examine the Jesus that we find there - all in the hope that you may believe he is the Son of God and that in him you may have life.

Easter | Jesus Rises
Sunday Apr 12, 2020
Sunday Apr 12, 2020
The Easter story - the journey of Jesus to the cross and from the tomb - is a story of scandal. Jesus has been arrested and handed over to Pilate by the religious leaders to be crucified. But we don't see Jesus as dying as the victim of a corrupt criminal justice system, instead we see Jesus dying to fulfil the plan of God, to offer himself as a sacrificial offering for our sin.
Three days later, we see Jesus rise again to new life, in victory; he has defeated Satan, sin and death, his offering accepted by God and his salvation effectual through his own resurrection.
We see 4 crucial things in the resurrection accounts:
1. It is historical - it really happened
2. It was physical - not just a metaphor
3. It is central - not minor detail
4. It changes everything - its not just a concept
